Lower-order thinking: How would you define classical
conditioning? (knowing)
Higher-order thinking: Do you think classical conditioning
could be used in your classroom? Would it be a good thing, why or why not?
(analyzing)
When I think of classical conditioning and the two stimuli that create the reaction it reminds me of the movie Sea biscuit. In particular the scenes where they took the fire hall bell and turned it on and switched the horse to get him to jump quicker. They used this as an aid to improve his starts off of the line and had their match race set up so the starter used a fire bell and of course the switch was removed but the horse's starts from then on were amazing. That is how I would define classical conditioning, two stimuli and trained reaction.
ReplyDeleteI definitely believe classical conditioning could be used in a classroom setting especially in reinforcing classroom conduct and etiquette. If students see that certain actions and issues when repeated will get a negative result I believe this will be a huge deterrent to this negativity and will be conditioned for a positive outcome.
