Define and give an example of the term illusion of knowing as presented on page 255 of Ormrod.

When given a right triangle with only the base and height labeled, your students are doing very well determining the area of the triangle. Create a question to determine if the students really understand how to determine the area of a triangle, or if they merely have the illusion of knowing (merely memorizing the algorithm of taking the two numbers they see, multiplying them together and dividing by 2).
Question #1 I think is a level 1 or 2 question (Remember/Understand). The second question is a level 5 or 6 question (Evaluate/Create).
